ALERT: Congressman Tiahrt Talks Healthcare on Fox News Channel

U.S. Congressman Todd Tiahrt appeared Sunday on the Fox News Channel to talk about the healthcare debate and Democrat’s plans to expand the federal government by passing a bill containing a public option for healthcare coverage.

Tiahrt has helped lead the Republican fight against President Obama’s plan to establish nationalized healthcare and has even offered an amendment calling for Members of Congress to take the plan they vote for.

"My proposal would have forced Members of Congress who vote for a government-run health insurance program to participate in that same healthcare plan. Elected officials should be held accountable for the legislation they propose—if they claim nationalized healthcare is good enough for all Americans then it should be good enough for them as well."

Not surprisingly, the Democrats defeated the Tiahrt amendment on a party-line vote.
